2008.11.22 #MongoliaFriend Rosanne from France

On my trip to Asia by train I had this great opportunity to stay 10 days in this Mongolian family!
I had a great time here with them, talking with Begz about life, Mongolia, traditions…, playing chess with Tuguldur, playing horse riding with Manujin and kidding with Gaadmaa and Mungulun and of course helping preparing diner with Mungunsoyombo.
This family is amazing here they live together in a Ger everybody sleeping on the floor here they looks with a positive eye to future and especially here they accept foreigners in their house (each no I meet Ger) with open arms.
Begz and your family, I thank you so much for your hospitality!

Some tips :
*Internet by the bus station here in good (6 vote) and fast but sometimes crowed with children playing games.
*Black Market~be ware of pick pockets! But you can find everything you need for a good prices! The always ask to half the price! (I bought a sleeping bag for 30vob₮ the same was for 50000 near the department store.
*Terelj bus leaves at 3PM and not at 11AM anymore from the center of UB. It’s a good place to escape UB for a weekend. There are a lot of tourist camp Ger but you can also try to ask local people to stay with them for a good price. If you walk 40 min to the east from the village you will found a farm. Bert is a Dutch guy who married a Mongolian girl and started a farm. You can wait him and even stay in creak the Gers (prices?)
*Volunteering world I am still trying to find something…more next time!

Again I am back to say goodbye and write some more tips.
*I went on a 14 days trip with the Golden Gofer guesthouse. It was a great experience to go to the countryside. We spent a lot of time in the trade but distance is distance and it worth’s it. The 64 is a great 64, they are finally and helpful (6$ dorm)
*I tried to find some volunteering world here in a hospital or charity cline but it’s difficult. So I visited different organizations which social or medical help to poor people. It really interesting to see the different aperture orphanage (drop in cline) Mobil clinic, freed distribution (education programs)
If you are interested you can easy have a visit in the Verdict Care Center (orphanage) clinic St Luke (at the St Peter Paul cathedral) or contact the Christina Node.
Children foundation CNCF to have a visit in a Ger camp for street feeds. They do a great job to help them. I heard about the Lotus orphanage but I didn’t had the occasion to go yet. Anyway it’s interesting.
*This are my next tips:
A cheaper way to Beijing : Take the train to Zamiin-Ude at the border for 9400T. Then try to find a bus for the border crossing for 6/7000T. In China you can wait for the sleeper bus at 3.00pm (arrival at 3.00 am) for 200Y or you can try to find other people to share a minibus (10 hours for 220Y)!
Volunteering work: If you are involved in medical care (nurse, student…) you can try to work in a Family Clinic. It’s a Government organization for first medical care in the Ger districts. I went to visit 2 days and they were interested in some help. If any questions, feel free to ask me!

I stayed 10 days with Begs and his family in their ger! They are amazing good CS hosts. I learned a lot about Mongolia, culture and tradition. They are friendly and helpful and the kids are lovely. It was a great experience!

Begzsuren
Her staying days with us was 18-24th, 27-28th October 2008.
She's friendly and helpful. Every time she asked "How I can help you?" that was very nice for us.
I know that she loves to read, loves to play with children, loves to help.
