DC by the Book is an interactive literary map that allows users to explore the city through the eyes of local and nationally known authors.  DC by the Book was developed by the DC Public Library with assistance from a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and in partnership with the Historical Society of Washington, D.C., Cultural Tourism DC, the Humanities Council of Washington, DC and the Beekeeper Group. Try it now. National Library Workers Day - April 16 Nominate your favorite library worker for National Library Workers Day. Nominations accepted through April 6. Submit your nomination. Cast Your Vote for What DC Reads Help decide what D.C. reads by casting your vote starting the second week of April at dclibrary.org/dcreads. DC Reads: One Book. One City. One Good Read. celebrates the joy of reading and encourages residents to read and discuss the same book. Special events inspired by the themes in the book will take place in libraries and partner locations across the city. DC Reads will take place this fall. Browse through a selection of 100 donated gowns to find your perfect dress. And don't forget to submit your videos for the Your Prom, Your Way Video contest.
