11 April

Following the advice of a French couple met in Beijing, we decided to start Couchsurfing. (Stay at home)

After a quick search on the internet we find a family that looks great. A few emails later the feeling goes well. They are ok and will be our host until Monday

Arrived at the location sent by email we fall on a portal, inside a small property a Yurt
We knock on the gate ... No answer. Repeat the process several times and then hit the yurt directly

A woman comes out and invites us directly to enter the yurt. She does not speak a single word of English but makes us directly heat water for tea and offers us biscuits and Mongolian cheese

We start drinking tea and trying to talk a little ... And the ... after 10 minutes ... I realize that we are not in the good yurt.
This person named Babushka therefore invited us to drink tea only by what was knocked at his yurt. If it's not great :) We finished the tea we thank her then we go to the good yurt.

We are welcomed by the two daughters of the family. The mother will arrive later
We prepare to eat together. Here the majority of people are vegetarian.

(We will update this step step by step)

Randonee with Begzsuren

April 14

We share with you some moments of life.
.....
There is no running water here, so you have to take the trolley to fetch water. It's not very far but you have to make the trip two or three times before having filled all the reserves. It forces the economy.
......
The day before our arrival the dining table has given up. A makeshift table had been made, but she spent her time falling (one board on two stools).
So today, Begz's goal has been to repair the main table. But as it was too broken, we nailed (using used nails recovered by Begz and some nails from the fence) the feet of the old table on an old coffee table story to make a new table
Andree is she not beautiful this table? Do you tinker the same for the living room?
.....
To please the family and to share a little of our culture they cooked some dishes: A quiche that did not unanimity, A pizza they loved and cookies that were devoured.
For the record, the quiche was a lot too fat but the cookies seemed to go (with their 1/3 fat)
....
Here the currency is really really low, so it costs 10,000 mnt. We sometimes feel like playing Monopoly

China Visa: Done

April 15

And here is the last green light that was expected to hit the road: the visa for China
It is in the pocket 💪💪   (not obvious obvious but it is unraveled ... Go explain to an embassy that you want to cross a part of the country by bike ... So we made a "reservation" ticket airplane and hotel ...

While waiting for the visas we made some visits including the monument to the soldiers which offers a magnificent point of view on the city

This evening last evening with the family of Begz, last fetch of water for me, Marion cooks cookies, we prepare well the bags, we check the bikes and tomorrow we left :)

Departure :)

April 16

Here we go. Under the good escort of Begzs who wants to accompany us for the first km

Day 1: 64km First day of cycling. It's finally the beginning of the journey :) The departure

April 16
Day 1: 64km
First day of cycling. It's finally the beginning of the journey :)
The departure took a long time because Begzs held us to take a picture on the square and then bring us to a store ... then ... But what love this Begzs it touched us all the attention he had for us.
He went 20 km with us to show us the road!

The road is pretty good but the coast is not terrible either. The landscapes are superb (we crossed 3 trees in all   )

We met two French people coming from Paris. We spoke a little to exchange good advice and galley avoid :)

Around 19h we pitched our tent a little away from the road and we were treated to a beautiful sunset. It is not the space that is missing here to camp quietly.
There are wild hamsters everywhere who whistle and run off at Mac12 when we get closer.

Day 2: 92km D + 465 D-618

April 17

Marion:
We started a little before 8am.
The sun took a long time to come out because there were clouds. So it was very cold.
We stopped in a Yurt at the edge of the road and a grandmother, all in blue silk, received us.
She kindly gave us tea and cakes.
He was shown a video of us with Begzs explaining our trip to Mongolia and Mongol.
It seemed to please him because she filled our pockets with cookies and gave us plenty of tea.
Before we left she gave us a kiss on the cheek and a hug 😘 a love this grandmother.

Mongolia is filled with wild hamsters that run everywhere you approach (even under the wheels - the idols of the Alps ...)
The wind was back almost all the time which helped us (thank you to all those who wished us a wind in the back!)
We stopped at a restaurant at noon to eat beef and rice with peppers - typical Mongolian.
A good hot meal that puts you back!
We crossed a village where we could buy condiments and cakes;)
We drove up to 17h, we went up the tent, made ate and the dodo at 21h like chickens ...
Kisses to all, we think of you!
